Khoch3 KlimaKarten opens a branch office in Vienna
Second location for the expansion into Austria, Managing Director Nils Derboven heads the Vienna office
Khoch3 KlimaKarten opened a branch office in Vienna in March 2026 (Viriotgasse 7 Top 6, 1090 Vienna). From the new location, the company is building its Austrian business: with AdaptAT, it is creating the municipal climate adaptation offering for Austrian cities and municipalities. Co-founder and Managing Director Nils Derboven serves as the branch's permanent representative and heads the Vienna office.
Austria is a key market for Khoch3: together with Germany, the target market comprises more than 14,200 municipalities that need to plan and implement climate adaptation. Khoch3 is already rooted in the Viennese ecosystem, including winning the Social Impact Award Austria 2025, the Re:Wien program by OekoBusiness Wien, and the INiTS SCALEup program.
The office serves as the point of contact for Austrian cities, municipalities and regional associations. Short distances matter in advisory work, because legal frameworks, funding programmes and data sources in Austria differ from the German ones. AdaptAT therefore works with Austrian geodata and climate scenarios and follows the requirements of the Austrian adaptation strategy.
About Khoch3 KlimaKarten: Khoch3 KlimaKarten UG (haftungsbeschränkt), founded in 2024, develops digital tools for municipal climate adaptation. With KomAdapt, the all-in-one tool for municipal climate adaptation, and GECAA, the AI-powered decision engine, Khoch3 helps governments assess climate risks such as heat, heavy rain and flooding faster and implement effective measures. The team of around eleven combines urban planning, GIS, climate science, software development and UX. Khoch3 KlimaKarten is headquartered in Cologne and has a branch office in Vienna, opened at the end of January 2026. www.khoch3klimakarten.de
